Our new Bike Canterbury's Backcountry tour now includes a wagon ride, pulled by a team of Clydesdale horses, at Erewhon Station - 'home of the working horse'.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get up close to these beautiful animals, and experience the stunning scenery and learn the history at Erewhon Station, on a mode of transport rarely seen today.

Escape the gloom of winter and venture south on a winter sojourn to the Otago Rail Trail. Our ever popular Otago Rail Trail tour has been adapted for the winter months and includes more opportunities to explore the local area, meet the people and experience the warmth of southern hospitality than ever before.
Enjoy the spectacular winter scenery of Central Otago, and bike the trail ‘in reverse' from Middlemarch to Clyde in the crisp clear days that winter brings.
Experience a night at the very special Dansey's Pass Coach Inn, as well as a night in the quaint village of St Bathan's. Experience the warmth of southern hospitality while our hosts enjoy some ‘downtime' that the season brings. Challenge yourself with something new and partake in clay target shooting on the Duncan farm in Wedderburn, or try Nasebys' thrilling new ice luge, or more sedate ice skating.
The tour starts/finishes in either Christchurch or Queenstown, with several set departure dates available, however we can run the trip on demand for groups of 8+ people anytime between June - September.

"Chocolate Box New Zealand: The best way to see the Mackenzie Basin" Read an article written by Charles Riddle, a participant on a recent PureTrails Bike Mackenzie Country tour, as seen in the Waikato Times on February 19.
Charles, who is head of the Wintec's journalism department, was on holiday with a group of friends and had not intended to write about our trip. However his experience and photo's taken compelled Charles to share his experience with others. Click here to read the article (4MB pdf file).
Bookings are now open for the summer season. Click here to view our Bike Mackenzie Country itinerary, dates and prices.
